Karymar Antonihetta Medina Morales was born and raised in Maracay, Venezuela. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua during one of the darkest periods of Venezuela's humanitarian crisis.
As a young attorney in Venezuela, Karymar dedicated herself to defending human rights and providing legal assistance to vulnerable populations affected by the country's deteriorating conditions. Her commitment to justice came during a time when the legal system itself was under tremendous strain, and when millions of Venezuelans were making the impossible choice to leave their homeland.
In 2018, Karymar and her family joined the millions who have fled Venezuela's ongoing crisis. The difficult journey from her homeland to Texas, where she now resides with her husband Gerardo and their children Santiago and Emma, became the foundation for her literary work.

Como joven abogada en Venezuela, Karymar se dedicó a defender los derechos humanos y brindar asistencia legal a poblaciones vulnerables afectadas por las condiciones deterioradas del país. Su compromiso con la justicia llegó en un momento en que el propio sistema legal estaba bajo una tensión tremenda, y cuando millones de venezolanos estaban tomando la decisión imposible de dejar su patria.
